Niagara Region slowly closing in on 200 COVID-19 cases

The Delta variant of COVID-19 is continuing to push the numbers up in Niagara Region as cases are slowly closing in on 200.
With 27 new cases reported today (August 31), the region sits at 196 existing cases with the Delta variant being the cause for all of them.
Sadly, Niagara Health announced another death in the region last night, making it a total of 421 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
St Catharines is still the leading municipality in the region with 72 cases, followed by Niagara Falls with 44. Four other municipalities are also in the double-digits as Welland, Lincoln, Thorold and Grimsby are showing 20, 15, 12 and 10 cases each respectively.
The remaining six municipalities are showing between one and five cases.
