Niagara to feel the heat today

Is today the day that Niagara Region sets a new high for October 3rd heat?
It’s starting to look that way, according to Environment Canada. While the rest of the week is pretty much in line for October temperatures, the weather agency is calling for highs of 28C with a Humidex reading of close to 34C.
It’ll be more of the same tomorrow before the temperature drops to a seasonable level of 11C by Sunday.
That would beat the previous high of 26.3C set on Oct. 3, 1983. The average high typically for this date is 17.8C while the average low dips down to a nippy 8.1C.
While you’re thinking about that when you’re out for a steamy walk today, keep in mind the record low for Oct. 3 in Niagara Region was minus 0.6C in 1974.
That’s in line with what Thunder Bay and Timmins are expecting today as the weather in both the northern urban centres is calling for snow.
