Brock University with campuses in St. Catharines and Thorold, as well as Niagara College with campuses in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Welland, are both hitting the brakes on COVID-19 vaccine and masking mandates as the fall semester starts in 20 days.
That both, both schools said they would be strongly “encouraging” students to mask up and have their booster shots.
However, a few of Ontario universities had made it clear they’re taking a harder stance.
Western University in London has implemented vaccine and masking requirements for students, faculty, staff and some visitors.
The University of Toronto stance is a combination of things. They have stopped requiring proof of vaccination for those attending classes. However, if students and staff are going to live in campus residences, they’ll need both the two original shots plus a booster.
Wilfred Laurier in Kitchener says every class must mask up when the fall semester starts.
