Olympic silver medalist gets track at his old St Catharines high school named after him

Some of us return to our former high schools with at least some sense of trepidation.
Not Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Mohammed Ahmed, who claimed that medal in the 5000M. He came back to be honoured.
His old alma mater, St. Catharines Collegiate Secondary School, is naming their track in his honour.
The school is where the Olympian started running all those years ago after moving to to St Catharines from Somalia with his parents at the age of 11,
At the moment, the District School Board of Niagara and the City of St. Catharines are rushing to make the new facility name official.
In the meanwhile, the track is getting spruced up a little to feature a clearly-marked four-lane track, new football goalposts and a few other touches.
After his time at the St Catharines high school, Ahmed went on to an exceptional athletic career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, collecting 11 NCAA All-American awards in track and cross country.
