An OPP cruiser, pulled over for an accident at the Lake St entrance lane to the Fort Erie bound QEW, was smashed behind behind by a car coming onto the highway this morning (Feb. 28).

So far, the OPP has not issued any specific comments on potential injuries to either the drivers in the first accident, the officer who was pulled over or the driver of the car that hit the cruiser other than to say “injuries reported.”

However, EMS, fire services and an MTO crash truck were all called to the scene of the accident which happened just past 9 am during morning rush hour.

The OPP says an investigation is “ongoing.”
