Speeding is never a good idea. Speeding without car insurance is downright foolhardy, not to mention expensive.
The OPP pulled over a 30-year-old driver this morning (July 28) on the QEW at St. Catharines doing 156 km/h and it turned out that he had no car insurance.
“Driving with no insurance = bad idea,” they tweeted today, adding that Stunt Driving was even “worse.”
The maximum fine for stunt driving in Ontario is $10,000. Drivers could also face up to six months in prison. As well, it stays on the driver’s record for three years after conviction.
According to the police, speed-related deaths on Ontario roads reached a 10-year high with 81 fatalities in 2021.
