Emergency services personnel responded to a collision earlier this weekend in the Crystal Beach area of Fort Erie.

Around 12:43 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, it’s reported that an SUV struck the corner of a house on Ridgeway Road between Erie Road and Graeber Avenue.

Officers attended the scene and found a man who had been in the home at the time of the collision. He was treated by Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics for minor injuries.

A woman who also had been in the home at the time was uninjured, according to police.

The vehicle is identified as a black 2017 GMC Yukon.

“The Yukon caused significant damage and the home was deemed no longer safer for occupancy by Fort Erie Fire Services personnel,” said police.

“The owner of the Yukon who happened to be on scene, reports the SUV was stolen from a bar on Erie Road where they had been. Witnesses at the collision report seeing a male run from the scene who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.”

The driver has not been located at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
