While details are still scarce, Niagara Police have confirmed that a construction worker in Pelham was rushed to the hospital yesterday (July 13) after a workplace accident.

The incident happened at roughly 1:30 pm at a construction site near the intersection of Port Robinson Rd. and Rice Rd.

The 20-year-old worker was up on a ladder when he suddenly fell off and hit the ground. He was rushed by Niagara EMS to an out-of-town hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

It’s still speculation but it’s believed that the tool he was holding came in contact with an electrical wire.

The Ministry of Labour was notified, and the scene was held by officers pending their arrival.
