A weekend pellet gun shooting resulted in the arrest of a Niagara Falls man yesterday (July 12).
On July 9, Niagara Police were called to the Dorchester Road and Thorold Stone Road area in Niagara Falls after reports an adult female was suffering from a gunshot wound.
While she was quickly airlifted to an out-of-town trauma centre for treatment, the police determined her wound was caused by ball-bearing (BB), believed to have been shot from a black pistol style pellet gun.
They quickly released a description of the suspect and yesterday were called to a disturbance in the same area. Once there, they identified the man they believed to be the suspect in the pellet gun case.
A search of his house found the weapon they believed was involved in the incident.
Joshua Levesque, 19, of Niagara Falls was charged with discharging an air gun or pellet pistol with intent to injure, discharging a firearm being reckless to the life or safety of others, possession of a weapon and uttering threats.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing today at the courthouse in St. Catharines.
