Getting a tip that a St. Catharines man had an illegal weapon, the Niagara Police paid a visit to his home yesterday (May 17) only to find out that he wasn’t there but the weapon certainly was.
Using a search warrant to get into the house in the Terrace Hill Rd. and Westchester Cres. area, the police were backed up by their Emergency Task Unit since a weapon was involved.
Once in there, they recovered a Smith & Wesson 554 revolver along with six 45 calibre rounds and one round of 9mm ammunition. Police believe the suspect knows he is wanted and had taken flight.
A warrant has been issued for Luke Mark Perron, 39, (shown below) of St. Catharines as he is wanted possession of a weapon contrary to his prohibition, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowing he doesn’t have a licence and careless storage of a firearm.
