Niagara Police are releasing images of the armed bank robbery suspect from a CIBC bank in Welland last week (May 24).

The bank provided the surveillance footage (above and below) to the Niagara Police to help capture the suspect.

Police say at 12:35 pm on May 24, a man walked into the branch at 200 Fitch St., holding a gun and demanding cash. While no employees were hurt, the man grabbed the cash and took off on foot, heading eastbound toward the Steve Bauer Trail that runs adjacent to Prince Charles Dr.

He is described as a white male, roughly 5-foot-4, about 40 years old with grey hair or possibly wearing a grey wig. Thanks to the footage, they now know he was wearing a black baseball hat with a red brim, a blue surgical mask covering his face, a black three-quarters length jacket with a hood, grey pants or possibly blue jeans and shoes with a white sole.

Detectives continue to appeal for area residents and businesses to review their CCTV footage for imagery that may assist in this investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1008980.
