The site of a former Swiss Chalet has a new tenant.
And this one serves up tacos.
Recently, Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati took to social media to welcome a brand new Taco Bell restaurant to the city. The popular quick-service resto’s newest outpost has taken shape at 3770 Montrose Road, in the Food Basics plaza.

Taco Bell Canada hosted a grand opening celebration last week.
“It may sound cheesy but lettuce tell you that this new business located in the old Swiss Chalet/Food Basics plaza, has some spec-taco-lar menu items,” Diodati wrote on X.
The newest Taco Bell is one of only two locations in the city, with the other one on Lundy’s Lane. The only other Niagara region locations listed on the company’s website are both in St. Catharines.
The popular chain, which boasts locations across Canada, is known for its tacos, burritos and nachos, as well as some specialty items such as the Crunchwrap Supreme and Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
