Hamilton man remembers lotto ticket in his pocket, turns out it's worth $100,000
A Hamilton man is $100,000 richer after matching the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the June 7, 2022, Lotto Max draw.

A Port Colborne retiree is on easy street now after winning $500,000 in the June 21 LOTTO MAX draw.

Wayne Madere, a father of two and grandfather of three, says he plays the lottery every week.

“I checked my ticket the day after the draw and was so excited,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I told my family and friends, and they were happy for me!”

The retiree already purchased a new camper but “I plan to help out my kids and invest the rest.”

“It’s great to have no worries about retirement,” Madere concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Food Basics on Clarence Street in Port Colborne.
