When the Niagara Police pulled over a car last night (June 21) in Niagara Falls that they believed was being driven by a man with a suspended licence, it turned out to be a far worse experience for him and his two passengers.

Police pulled the car over at 6:55 pm in the Lundy’s Lane and Kalar Rd. area and said there was “an obvious attempt by the driver to climb into the rear seat of the vehicle as officers approached.”

While he was instantly charged, a further inspection of the car allegedly turned up 128.9 grams of suspected cocaine estimated to be worth $12,890, as well as $8,000 in suspected crime cash.

Jordan Timothy Downey, 29, of Niagara Falls, who was the driver, has been charged driving with a suspended licence, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of suspected crime cash under $5,000.

Quintin Joseph Thomas, 29, of Niagara Falls has been charged with failure to comply with a release order, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of suspected crime cash under $5,000.

Matthew Darren Dudley Goodman, 25, of St. Catharines has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of suspected crime cash under $5,000.

All three remain in police custody and will attend a bail hearing later today (June 22) via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines.
