Thorold is giving its residents and businesses a chance for a little notoriety, as well as offering up a place to ‘park’ it in a nice setting.
Commemorative benches are now available at the city’s Battle of Beaverdams Park.
Anyone or any group that purchases and donates a bench will get a a customized name plaque with inscription on it, as well as maintenance of the bench for 15 years. The bench will be designed to be fully accessible and includes an extended concrete pad and exterior curb.
“We are happy to give residents an opportunity to memorialize their loved ones in the newly renovated park,” says City CAO Manoj Dilwaria.
“We look forward to seeing Battle of Beaverdams Park slowly fill up with benches that are meaningful and hold sentimental value to members of our Thorold community.”
The commemorative bench can be purchased for $3,813.75, including tax and maintenance costs.
Those who are interested in purchasing a bench are encouraged to fill out the application form located HERE or by calling Dave Baldoni, Thorold’s Operations Supervisor of Parks and Cemetery in Public Works and Community Services at 905-227-6613 ext. 301
