Restaurant ‘set on fire’ overnight in St. Catharines

Two people are being sought in connection with an arson investigation in St. Catharines.

Niagara Regional Police received a call about a fire around 3:22 a.m. in the early morning hours of Thursday (Sept. 12) in the area of Lock Street and Lakeport Road.

“The St. Catharines Fire Department and officers arrived on scene and investigation revealed that two unknown suspects approached a restaurant at this location and set it on fire,” allege Niagara police.

The perpetrators were last season running North on Locke Street, before getting into a black sedan at the intersection of Lock Street and Dalhousie Avenue.

The vehicle would then continue southwest on Dalhousie Avenue.

Detectives have taken control of the investigation.
