Santa Claus parade and tree lighting ceremony to kick off in Niagara Falls in a couple of weeks

With October ending, Niagara Falls is wasting no time kicking off the holidays, as the official Niagara Falls Santa Claus Parade and Tree Lighting Event will be soon taking place.

According to information sent out by city officials, this year’s event is scheduled to kick off at Niagara Falls City Hall on Saturday, Nov. 16 at around 4 p.m. — with the Santa Claus Parade marking the beginning of the festivities.

Arriving complete with bands, floats, characters, performers, and — naturally — Santa Claus himself, the event will be sure to sprinkle Niagara Falls with some holiday cheer.

After the parade, the official tree-lighting ceremony will begin, marking the beginning of the city’s annual Celebration of Lights, an ongoing community charity event that aims to raise funds for regional hospitals.

Additional festivities on the evening of Nov. 16 include a meet and greet event with Santa Claus as well as a holiday cookie giveaway, where community members can enjoy some free festive treats.
