‘Serious collision’ closes Niagara highway off-ramps

Commuters in the Niagara Falls and Fort Erie area were advised to take alternative routes at Monday rush hour.
Bowen Road, which services traffic coming off of the Queen Elizabeth Way highway, was closed in both directions due to a police investigation into a collision. The investigation has also led to the closure of off-ramps from both the Toronto-bound and Fort Erie-bound QEW.
Niagara Regional Police Service officers are attending. They did not provide a timeline, but collision reconstruction investigations can require closures lasting several hours.
“There is a serious collision in the area,” the NRPS wrote on social media. “Traffic exiting the QEW may be affected and should find alternate routes.”
NRPS are on scene for a traffic investigation. Avoid Bowen Rd between QEW and Thompson Rd. Bowen Rd closed both directions.
