It’s not exactly like he’s “boldly going where no man has gone before.” After all, lots of people come to Niagara Falls.
But when William Shatner, aka Captain Kirk himself, beams down to the Niagara Falls Comic Con, being held this weekend (June 3 to 5) at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre, let’s face it – to geeks everywhere, he’s the golden boy, the must-see guest.
The 91-year-old actor made headlines when he flew into space last October as part of the team for the Jeff Bezo-owned Blue Origin suborbital rocket.
At 90 years, six months and 22 days old, he was the oldest person to fly to space, beating out Wally Funk who flew on Bezo’s first foray into space at age 82.
Shatner will appear at the Con tomorrow (June 4) and Sunday.
In fact, it could actually be dubbed the Niagara Falls TV Reunion Comic Con as former castmates will be reuniting at the event.
Four cast members of the TV show, “Sons of Anarchy”, will reconnect for the first time ever at any event – Ron Perlman, Kim Coates, Ryan Hurst and Mark Boone Junior are all scheduled though Perlman will only be there on Saturday whereas the others are good for all three days.
Richard (“Al”) Karn and Debbe (“Heidi”) Dunning will have their own Tool Time reunion as the former stars of the hit TV comedy, “Home Improvement”, and will be there all three days.
And Baby Boomers may remember the iconic duo of Eric Estrada and Larry Wilcox from the 1970s California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers TV show “CHIPS.” It could be an interesting three-day dynamic as the two men have never gotten along, either during the show or afterwards.
Other stars include James Marsters (“Spike”) from the TV show “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, Joseph Marcell, the butler Geoffrey from the TV show “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” as well as Laura Vandervoort, Supergirl from the hit show “Smallville.”
From the sports world, wrestling legend Mick Foley and David Ayres, the emergency back-up goalie-zamboni driver who helped the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Toronto Maple Leafs in February 2020.
Tickets are still available HERE.
Lots of familiar TV faces will be in Niagara Falls for the Comic Con this weekend.
