There’s six less beaches safe for swimming this weekend in Niagara. However, on the positive side, 13 still remain open.
Waverly Beach in Fort Erie and Reebs Bay in Wainfleet are both shut down to swimming due to algae.
Two beaches in Grimsby – Casablanca Beach (ecoli) and Nelles Beach (safety issues) – are shut down for swimming.
Queen’s Royal Beach in Niagara-on-the-Lake is unsafe for swimming due to ecoli, as is Sherkston Quarry Beach in Port Colborne.
Niagara Public Health tests the beaches daily.
