St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatic Centre shutting down for 2 weeks

The St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre will experience closures from June 13 to 29 as the City undertakes routine maintenance to ensure continued long-term functionality of its amenities.
The entire building, including the lobby, guest-services counter, pools and Dr. Huq Family Library Branch, will be closed on Monday, June 13, 2022. The library, guest-services counter and lobby will reopen on June 14. Depending on the rate of work it is possible the library, guest-services counter and lobby may reopen at some point on June 13, updates will be shared via City social media channels.
Pools will remain closed from maintenance from June 13 to June 29, before opening for regular swimming and the start of aquatics summer programming.
Work will include pool draining and cleaning; re-grouting and a deep clean of the entire facility. The pools will reopen June 30.
Families looking to beat the heat ahead of re-opening can visit the City’s inclusive splash pads at Bogart Street Park, Lester B. Pearson Park, Catherine Street Park and West Park. Splash pads are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
