It's the suite life at the Meridian Centre for this group watching an IceDogs game.

Let’s face it. The City of St. Catharines suite seats at the Meridian Centre are, indeed, pretty sweet seats.

Not only that, the city is offering up its suite for the 2023-24 Niagara IceDogs season to local charities, non-profits, and youth sports groups.

The cost? Free.

The suites include a room with a countertop bar, a fridge, and an area of three fixed seats that overlook the action below and a couch facing a TV showing the action.

“The City’s suite can be used in one of two ways: organizations can provide the seats to youth to attend an IceDogs game or they can sell or auction the seats for fundraising purposes,” said the city.

The arena, which cost $50 million and opened on October 11, 2014, is the home of the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL and the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

Organizations that are interested in obtaining the suite for a game must apply online HERE.

Applications opened today (July 10) and will close on August 11. After the application is received, City staff will conduct a review of submissions. Successful applications will be notified in writing once a selection is made and informed of which game they have been selected for.

“Preference will be given to organizations that are based in St. Catharines and those that offer services to local youth. Weekend games are reserved for organizations that will use the suite to take youth to an IceDogs game.”
