Teen driver suffers life-threatening injuries after vehicle crashes into tree in Fort Erie

A teenage boy is clinging to life in hospital after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree in Fort Erie.
On Saturday (July 29) at 1:40 a.m., Niagara Regional Police, along with the Niagara Parks Police and the region’s emergency medical services, responded to a report of a serious collision in the area of Niagara Pkwy. / Townline Rd.
Police say the paramedics on scene, found a red Ford Mustang that had collided with a tree.
A driver in his teens who is a resident of Niagara Falls was trapped inside and needed to be extricated from the damaged vehicle.
According to investigators the driver was alone in the car at the time of the collision and was taken to an out of region hospital.
Police confirm the driver’s injuries are life-threatening.
Detectives from the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit were assigned to the investigation and are being assisted by detectives from the NRPS Forensic Services Unit.
Police say, the circumstances that led to the collision are still being investigated by detectives.

Residents or businesses in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for the red Ford Mustang for the period between 1:00 am and 1:40 am on July 29, 2023.
