Update: On Thursday morning, Niagara Regional Police said Emma had been located and is safe.
Original story follows.
A teen girl is missing from her home in St. Catharines.
Emma, 15, left her family home on Oct. 1 and has not returned since. The family notified Niagara Police on Oct. 8 who have launched an investigation.
Townsend was last seen near Westchester Avenue and Princess Street, a residential neighbourhood in Queenston near the middle of the city.
Investigators describe Townsend as a five-foot-six white girl. She weighs about 130 pounds and has dark hair. She also has an earring in both ears, brown eyes and a “distinctive” nose.
When last seen she was wearing a V-neck knitted long-sleeve black charcoal sweater, charcoal grey wool dress pants with a maroon pattern in them and black low-top running shoes. Police say Townsend has ties to Burlington, Cambridge and Parry Sound.
