When Port Colborne was pulling together its musical line-up for their 45th Annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival, they didn’t hold back, bringing in some high-powered Canadian acts.
The Glorious Sons and The Sam Roberts Band are both landing on the stage at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park, along with many others as the Canal Days Concert Series picks up where it left off.
The four day event, held August 4 to 7 over the August Civic Long Weekend, will see Ontario’s largest outdoor Classic Car Show, the Kid’s Zone at Seaway Park, the Empire Sandy Tall Ship and other vessels and of course, tons of local history at the Port Colborne Historical & Marine Museum.
However, for music lovers, the Canal Days Concert series is located at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park is the main attraction. On August 4, The Glorious Sons with opening acts Elliott Brood and JIN will start the weekend off with some great tunes.
On August 5, The Sam Roberts Band is the headliner with Skye Wallace and Texas King starting things off. On August 6, local tribute band favourites Pink Floyd Niagara and Riders on the Storm: A Live Celebration of The Doors take the stage.
Closing things out on August 7 will be some old-time rock as the Caverners Beatles Tribute and Tim ‘E’ Hendry, the 2013 King of the World Elvis Tribute Artist World Champion will bring back the 1950s and 1960s.
