A man from Toronto is wanted on nearly a dozen charges after a young woman was beaten, choked and sexually trafficked in Niagara Falls.

Police kicked off their investigation in August 29. A woman in her 20s was attacked and left in serious condition. She and the man later identified as a suspect knew each other

Nashon Paterson-Matthews, 25 of Toronto, is charged with trafficking in people, assault, assault by choking, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, car theft, procuring, advertising another’s sexual services and two counts of uttering threats and failure to comply with a release order.

Niagara police believe Paterson-Matthews is driving a stolen 2015 Acura TL with Ontario plates reading CEBA 175. He is likely still in the Greater Toronto Area as he has “significant ties” to it.

Investigators describe Paterson-Matthew as a Black man standing 5’8″ 125 lbs with a slender build and black hair often in a ponytail.

Investigators say he knows he is wanted and has taken steps to avoid arrest. His whereabouts are as yet unknown. NRPS said Paterson-Matthews should not be approached.

Anyone with information about Paterson-Matthews can call Niagara police at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009285 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
