VIDEO: House of Frankenstein still frightening Niagara Falls tourists

As with any tourist attraction in Niagara Falls, the reviews of House of Frankenstein located at 4967 Clifton Hill are decidedly mixed.
Basically they range from “still shaking” to “don’t bother.” But for the people who were frightened, well, there’s no doubt that the Clifton Hill spook-spot, built in the 1960s, is enough to get the blood going.
The Niagara Falls Tourism describes the experience of roaming through the place like this. “In the House of Frankenstein, there are many ‘monsters’ who lurk in the shadows, not living – and yet, not dead! See for yourself, the abominations that move and talk and who will make you scream!”
“Be warned, this is not for the weak of heart! When you climb the thirteen haunted steps, you are on your own. Do not turn around for there is no turning back. Find the hidden passageway and finish this journey of terror… or be lost in the clutching darkness forever!”
Another site added, “It shelters half-living and half-dead monsters. You will also find creatures hidden in shadows, glass coffins full of bodies, Frankenstein’s mini-theatre and other scary surprises. The House of Frankenstein will make you fall in the trap of its darkness unless you find the hidden path to the light.”
And now, the Niagara Falls has the Frank ‘N’ Coaster, “Canada’s only roof-top rollercoaster is now open… four terrifying stories above Clifton Hill! True thrill seekers can combine The House of Frankenstein and rollercoaster ride – chickens can opt for the rollercoaster only.” The rollercoaster does two laps on the rooftop.
One Quebec woman reviewed the attraction, saying, “One of the scariest haunted attractions I have ever visited! It’s something to go for if you love HORROR!! After the walk through… (I) was still shaking like a leaf for 10 minutes! It’s THAT scaryyyyy!!”
Added a Mississauga woman: “Scared the pants off of me and my friends! I screamed so loud at one point that I locked my jaw for a second! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!”
And one Miami man loved the fact that his wife was scared out of her mind. “It was super fun!! I loved it. I couldn’t stop laughing at my wife’s reactions she was screaming and crying.”
The attraction is open Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 12:30 am (next day), Friday through Sunday 9 am to 2 am (next day).
