Right now, the new South Niagara Hospital is just a dirt lot but over the next five years, you can watch the the 1.3-million-sqaure-foot facility being built via a special feed on your laptop or phone.

Granted, it’s pretty much a dirt lot at this point but residents can watch the construction of the new South Niagara Hospital from their laptops or phones.

Since it’s a five-year project, slated to open in the summer of 2028, it could be a while until anything takes shape but still, the live feed camera for the 1.3-million-square-foot hospital construction project is now officially broadcasting live on Niagara Health’s website.

With a new image updated every five minutes and a featured time-lapse video setting, residents can now watch the construction of the new hospital live from their desktop or mobile device.

“From the excavation phase, right through to the installation of the final beam and beyond, you can watch the 12-storey state-of-the-art hospital come to life in real time,” said Niagara Health.

Located at the corner of Montrose Rd. and Biggar Rd. in Niagara Falls, the new hospital will hold 469 single patient bedrooms, eight operating suites, 45 hemodialysis stations, and two MRI machines, as well as a full scope of hospital services including emergency, critical care, diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical services.

“It’s exciting to watch construction as it happens on the new South Niagara Hospital. This small glimpse into the construction process gives you a deeper appreciation for the amount of work that goes into building a structure of this size, the complexities of the process, and the people who are working on this project every day,” said Angela Zangari, Executive Vice-President, Finance, Redevelopment and Facilities, and Chief Financial Officer at Niagara Health.

The live feed camera is available to watch HERE.
