A Welland man who allegedly pulled out a knife during an angry argument was barely on the run for 15 minutes when the Niagara Police caught up to him.

Yesterday (June 4) at 12:25 pm, police responded to a report of a fight in the Market Square and Young St. area in Welland. Once there, there learned that two men had been loudly arguing in public.

They also believe that one of the men pulled out a knife and made several attempts to slash the other man, who was not injured.

The search for the suspect didn’t last long as the police found him a short distance away and he was under arrest by 12:42 pm.

Jacob Isaac Lundy, 22, of Welland has charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of failing to follow his probation order. He will face a video bail hearing today (June 5) at the courthouse in St. Catharines.
