Woman dead after car hits a tree in Niagara-on-the-Lake

A woman who was involved in a single-vehicle collision where her car hit a tree in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has died.

On Saturday (June 10) at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to a motor collision in the area of Lakeshore Road near Old Lakeshore Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Police say when they arrived they located a single vehicle that had struck a tree.

Paramedics arrived on the scene where they provided treatment to a 49-year-old woman who was the driver and only occupant of the car, officers say.

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say they will not be releasing her identity to the public.
