Woman wanted following convenience store robbery in West Lincoln

Police are searching for a woman allegedly who told a convenience store clerk in a West Lincoln (Smithville) convenience store that she had a gun and demanded money from the register.

Niagara police say that around 11 pm on July 26, officers were called to investigate reports of a robbery at an Avondale Store located at 112 Brock St.

Police allege that a lone woman entered the store, claimed to have a gun and demanded cash. No gun was seen, but the employee complied and the suspect fled the store, travelling westbound through the parking lot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers say a K9 unit tracked the suspect, who is believed to have entered a vehicle at some point.

The suspect is described as a white female who is approximately 5’6″ with a heavier build. She was last seen wearing a grey three-quarter-length coat, black hooded sweater, black pants, black boots, black glasses and a yellow scarf that she used to cover her face.

She has not yet been identified.

Anyone with closed circuit security camera, doorbell camera or dash cam footage from the area is asked to review it for suspicious activity. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the investigating officers by calling 905-0688-4111, option 3, extension 1009935.
