As it turns out, police have determined that the Niagara Falls youth who claimed he was robbed of his Nice Air Force One sneakers (sample shown here) in a park wasn't telling the turth.

A Niagara Falls youth is now in hot water with the police who allege the individual lied about having his shoes stolen from him at Mount Carmel Park on June 25.

On that day, he told police he was approached by two male and two female youths who demanded his Nike Air Force One sneakers at the threat of being beaten up.

He said he refused and one of the males made good on the threat, allegedly punching and kicking him, causing minor injuries. He then claimed the shoes were pulled off his feet and all four suspects took off from the park located at 7806 Mount Carmel Blvd.

Police said, “After interviewing witnesses who came forward as a result of the initial media release, detectives have concluded a robbery did not take place.”

The male youth was arrested for public mischief but later released unconditionally without charge in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
