A Toronto-based YouTube user named “ChaseTO” has posted a video featuring an incredibly dangerous stunt of himself and three of his friends gaining access to the roof of the Fallsview Casino and Resort in Niagara Falls.
Despite being 364 feet above the ground, the group engaged in some foolhardy stunts, including sitting completely unharnessed on the raised lettering of the word “Casino” near the top on the exterior of the building.
While their faces are blurred, their ill-advised antics are displayed in the video and have been seen by nearly 17,000 viewers as of this morning (August 27).
While the video was posted on August 14, it only just got the attention of the Niagara Region public, as well as casino management, yesterday.
Near the beginning of the video, the filmmaker, using a Go-Pro camera, shot scenes of himself flying a drone over the edge of the building. According to the words he put on the screen, the drone was operating at one per cent power when he brought it back to the roof.
Had the power died while in flight, it would have dropped 32 stories and potentially hit someone on the ground.
Aside from that, it was flying through a restricted drone area and without written permission from Transport Canada.
While Niagara Casinos President Richard Taylor told the local media that Niagara Casino would be investigating, there is no word yet as to whether the Niagara Police would be brought in.
When viewing the video, please understand these actions are not to be duplicated. Anyone trying this now would be caught by hotel security and then prosecuted on charges of trespassing and reckless endangerment.
